Facade blinds on the largest hospital building in Danish history

The New University Hospital and the existing Aarhus University Hospital are being merged into one on a construction site area of approx. 0.3 square meters and a land area of 1.25 million square meters, which corresponds to the size of a provincial town like Ribe. Alux has delivered and installed 3,500 Sun 4000 facade blinds for the project.

Alux A/S worked with three different contractors - Poul Pedersen, Mt Højgård and MB/JFP - on the project, which involved the supply and installation of Alux Sun 4000 façade blinds from Alux's Sun & Safe Systems, the optimal form of solar shading for windows. They are fully adjustable and controllable, as the slats can be controlled according to individual needs. At the same time, the blinds can also be controlled centrally.

Alux blinds have a long lifespan as they are very stable and therefore particularly suitable for keeping out sunlight on buildings that are exposed to high winds. With an exterior solution, in addition to shielding the light, you can also better regulate the temperature in the rooms because you can better shield the direct transmission of heat from the sun through the window glass. This provides an optimal indoor climate and greatly reduces the cost of operating the building's air conditioning system. Alux provides a control solution for DNU so that the blinds move up and down according to wind conditions, sun intensity, sun height and sun angle.

A complete project was delivered, including the installation of blinds, delivery and installation of automation and electrical work for the solar shading. In total, Alux delivered 3,500 blinds, which are distributed across the four departments N3, N4, N5, S3, S4 and S5.
