Alux has delivered a complete solar shading solution to Aalborg University in Esbjerg, which has helped students' learning through a significantly improved indoor climate.
A poor indoor climate has a significant impact on student well-being and learning. It was therefore necessary to find an exterior solar shading solution that was elegant and easy to integrate into the beautiful building. After a thorough collaboration with the property manager and SlothMøller Consulting Engineers A/S, the university is now adorned with 57 Sun 4000 zip screens on the building's exterior windows.
Solar shading is top-notch at the new town hall in Roegen
Alux has delivered 500 m2 of solar shading for Vejen City Hall, which with a programmable controller makes the operation of the solar shading optimal.
Vejen Town Hall is the setting for important democratic dialog, political battles and a workplace for more than 200 people, making good and optimal solar shading a necessity. For the town hall, built by Jørgen Friis Poulsen A/S and designed by TRANSFORM and Pluskontoret Arkitekter, we have delivered and integrated more than 500 m2 of solar shading on the building's exterior windows.
Wind-stable ZIP screens for The Arc in Kolding
Alux has had the pleasure of supplying 177 VSZ screens, which can withstand wind speeds up to wind class 6 - 24.7 m/s.
The wind-resistant screens are automatically controlled via a centrally located weather station on the roof. The control is divided into 12 zones and can be set individually for each zone.
Although a sunscreen is similar in principle to an external roller blind, there's more to the story. In recent years, zip systems have been developed that hold the fabric at the sides. This makes the sun protection extremely wind-resistant - in fact, zip screens can withstand up to 32 m/s, according to EN 1351:2015, which corresponds to wind class 7. That's why solar screens are a great solar shading solution for virtually any type of window. They are available with different types of cassettes and can even be integrated into the facade itself if you want to hide the motor completely.
