Alux A/S has supplied and installed advanced solar shading solutions for Orienthuset at Trælastholmen, an impressive building located in the dynamic Nordhavn district of Copenhagen. This project, which involved both exterior ZIP screens and interior roller blinds, combines functionality with aesthetic design and sustainability.

Exterior ZIP-Screens: Optimal Wind Protection and Light Control

The exterior ZIP screens, 409 in total, are designed to withstand wind class 5, which means they can withstand wind speeds up to 24.6 m/s, making them ideal for the tough wind conditions at Trælastholmen. The screens are equipped with fiberglass-reinforced screen fabric in the color Greysand, which has an opening factor of 5%. This provides an ideal balance between solar shading and visibility, creating a comfortable indoor climate while preserving the architectural expression of the building.

Interior Roller Blinds: Convenient Operation and Aesthetic Design

The 501 interior roller blinds are manually operated with ball chain pulls. Mounted on sustainable substrates, the curtains provide easy control of light, creating a comfortable indoor climate in the building's modern office spaces and common areas.

Integration of solar and wind automation

To optimize the functionality of the solar shading, sun and wind automation was installed, which controls the curtains based on current weather factors. This intelligent system ensures effective protection against the sun's rays and the effects of wind, while creating a comfortable atmosphere for the building's users.

Sustainability and Technical Quality

The project was carried out with great attention to sustainability, precision and quality. Alux A/S has ensured the preparation of detailed overview and installation drawings and electrical diagrams, ensuring a correct and efficient installation. Quality assurance is an integral part of Alux's deliveries, and comprehensive operation and maintenance documentation has been prepared as part of the delivery.
