External blinds are one of the most optimal forms of solar shading for facades. The angling of the blinds makes them optimal for adjusting light incidence according to the angle of the sun, while maintaining good visibility. Alux facade blinds are extremely wind-resistant and tested up to wind class 6 or up to 24.4 m/sec. depending on type and size.

for Office Building of the Year 2023
3500 facade blinds for the New University Hospital in Skejby
The largest hospital construction project in Danish history - The New University Hospital and the existing Aarhus University Hospital have been combined into one on a site area of approximately 0.3 km2 and a floor area of 1.25 million m2, which is the size of a provincial town like Ribe.
Alux supplied and installed 3,500 Sun 4000 Type 80 blinds for the project.
Alux A/S has worked with three different contractors - Poul Pedersen, Mt Højgård and MB/JFP.
Complete façade blind solution for DLG headquarters - Office Building of the Year 2021
Alux has supplied more than 2000 square meters of exterior facade blinds of type Z90, which is wind stable in wind class 6 up to 24.4 m/sec. The facade blinds are delivered with the sun height function, so that the angle of the blinds can be set exactly according to the current season, thus achieving the optimal sun protection.
1000 facade blinds for DTU: Technical University of Denmark in Lyngby
Alux A/S has installed 1000 external blinds including automation/control at DTU in Lyngby Building 202 - Life Science & Bioengineering. The project was carried out for KAI Andersen A/S.
The new building 202 will be the vibrant centerpiece - not only of the Life Science & Bioengineering complex, but of the entire campus area where the building is located. The project is DTU's largest construction project, involving new construction and remodeling of around 50,000 m2.

Alux facade blinds are usually motorized and controlled by a quiet 230V motor. Motorized solutions are often supplemented with solar and wind automation, which allows for integration with intelligent building controls such as CTS, ABA or similar systems. Communication via KNX or BAC networks is possible for all Alux solar shading systems.
