Solar shading is top-notch at the new town hall in Roegen

Alux has delivered 500 m2 of solar shading for Vejen City Hall, which with a programmable controller makes the operation of the solar shading optimal.

Vejen Town Hall is the setting for important democratic dialog, political battles and a workplace for more than 200 people, making good and optimal solar shading a necessity. For the town hall, built by Jørgen Friis Poulsen A/S and designed by Transform and Pluskontoret Arkitekter, we have delivered and integrated more than 500 m2 of solar shading on the building's exterior windows.

We offered a complete solar shading solution to the construction company Jørgen Friis Poulsen A/S, and in consultation we selected Screen Sun 4000 zip screens with anodized surface treatment for the building.

''Alux offered a good and inexpensive solution that we were very satisfied with from the start,'' says construction manager Gert Jakobsen.

Optimal programmable control

The 105 screens at Vejen Town Hall are integrated with the Sun 4000 Building Controller, an intelligent system for controlling screens. The control system is particularly suitable for large and medium-sized buildings, which made it attractive for the excellent building.

The control system uses an addressed infra control that sends signals to each individual motor. The system can be programmed to automatically control the screens based on time and weather conditions, optimizing the operation of the solar shading system.

''The system can do a little more than most other control systems with its addressed infra control with four zones, each of which is programmable'', says Ole Iversen, CEO of Alux.

The SUN 4000 Building Controller is also an energy-efficient control system that is easy to integrate and program.

Good collaboration in construction

During the delivery and installation of the solar shading, there was close collaboration between Alux and the construction company Jørgen Friis Poulsen A/S.

Gert Jakobsen, construction manager, says about the collaboration with Alux: ''The collaboration with Alux has worked really well. They have delivered and installed the agreed products on time and everything works as it should. I have also dealt with Alux afterwards, so there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Anodized surface treatment

For the 105 screens that adorn Vejen City Hall, an anodized surface treatment was part of the solution. This helps to give the building a strong, distinctive look. The anodizing process also makes the surface more lightfast and stronger.
