Alux A/S takes green responsibility by switching to sustainable aluminum from Hydro.

As a manufacturer and supplier of complete solutions for mechanical Mechanical security, solar shading and fire protection, we will only import and supply Hydro Reduxa aluminum, which is far more sustainable than the alternatives on the market.

At Alux, we have made a major change in our sourcing of aluminum so that we now only supply the climate-friendly and sustainable Hydro Reduxa aluminum from Hydro.

 Ole Iversen, CEO of Alux explains:

That's why we, at Alux, have chosen to take responsibility, become part of the solution and change our sourcing of aluminum to a greener raw material and manufacturing process.

He adds that choosing more sustainable aluminum was an easy decision:

''For us, there is no doubt that when we have the opportunity to deliver a smaller carbon footprint, we should of course do so. Companies are responsible for the things they bring to the market. We really want to take our share of responsibility for reducing the total CO2 emissions in the world.

A significant green difference

The environment and climate are undeniably hot topics both nationally and globally. There is a big task ahead of us in the climate field, which is why Hydro Reduxa is an excellent solution for climate-friendly, low-emission aluminum. 

The new raw material is 100% equal in quality to other aluminum products in the market. The difference is in the manufacturing process.

Hydro Reduxa is produced 100% on green energy and has one of the smallest carbon footprints on the market. The carbon footprint is just 4.0 kg CO2 per kilo of aluminum produced, compared to an average of 20.0 kg CO2 per kilo of aluminum produced in China. Hydro Reduxa is also approximately 50% lower than the European average.

We reduce our annual carbon footprint by more than 3000 tons compared to other manufacturers who source their aluminum from China.

It may not seem like much in the grand scheme of things, but if everyone does it, it will quickly make a significant improvement to our environment.

Sustainable quality

Hydro Reduxa has been on the market for four years. Martin Petersen, Key Account Manager at Hydro, says the green profile is special:
