Danfoss in Silkeborg has it all.

We have delivered and installed Slat screens with sun protection and plaster bridge on the entire south facade of the building at Danfoss in Silkeborg.

Danfoss Silkeborg

Year built: 2017 - 2019
Location: Silkeborg

Architect: Rum
Engineer: Niras

Danfoss Silkeborg is a workplace, showroom and development center and serves as a gathering point for employees and customers from all over the Nordic region.

When the 400+ employees arrive, they are greeted by the architecturally beautiful building, where the entire south facade is equipped with Slat screens, which gives the building a nice distinctive look and provides an excellent working environment.

We have delivered and installed Sunscreen 300W Slat screens on the entire 50-meter long south facade of the building, making it stand out in central Jutland. The slats stand vertically on the windows, giving the building character and emphasizing its aesthetically pleasing look.

Wing-shaped efficiency

We delivered and installed the facade louvers in three weeks in 2019, and they have been working brilliantly as sun protection for the many employees ever since.

The slats are 300 mm wide and wing-shaped for a more aerodynamic shape, resulting in less wind noise than a normal square slat.

The wing-shaped slats complement the raw and rustic look of the building to perfection, which excites Ole Iversen, CEO of Alux:

''It's just great to deliver tasks that the architect has thought through so well. It's really nice to see that the slats have been thought of differently, where they help to give the building some distinctive character and character,'' says Ole Iversen.

A practical masterpiece

The slats are designed to sit 70 cm from the facade of the building, creating a plaster bridge between the slats and the building facade. This offers some clear practical benefits, according to our construction manager on the project, Ole Eeg:

''The cleaning bridge offers enormous practical benefits. It provides an optimal opportunity to use your windows, and at the same time you get the opportunity to clean and polish the windows. This is a
clear advantage compared to normal, fixed screening,'' says Ole Eeg.

In addition, escape routes have also been incorporated behind the cleaning bridge, which can be used in the event of a fire.

The facade slats are also a self-supporting structure that does not weigh down the building, as they simply lean against the building facade.
