Conclusion of "The Great Burglary Experiment"

For 5 weeks now, we have followed "The Great Burglary Experiment", which has been shown on Channel 5 in April 2015, and Alux A/S has been a sponsor with some security solutions for the program's participants.

The Great Burglary Experiment Alux

It has been interesting to see the reaction of citizens to the ordered burglaries carried out in their homes. And it has been just as interesting to see which security solutions they have subsequently chosen and what they have been recommended by the program's security expert. A wide range of security solutions have been used, ranging from alarms, smoke cannons, markings, safety glass, locks, iron bars and grilles to the softer things such as lights, cutting down plants and to neighborly help.

In general, it is quite astonishing how little citizens know about creating safety and security in the home. Most people think that as long as they have just done a little, thieves will pass by. This is what I would call the 'ostrich effect'. It is true that the more preventive measures you take, the less chance there is of burglary because the thief moves on to the next home. In general, we must be more realistic and face the fact that it is necessary to secure and do it in the way that is optimal for one's home and, of course, also adapt it to one's finances.

The conclusion is that many things can be done both inside and out. This minimizes the risk of burglary and also limits the proceeds of theft. But in the thieves have come, and it is unpleasant.

It's about keeping the thief out, and the only solution to that is SHELL PROTECTION, i.e. physical security of doors and windows. This can be done with security doors and security windows with security glass or with the SafeRoller® safety curtain. This product even has several features. Here you can have windows and doors standing open, so you get fresh air and a nice indoor climate in your home while being secured. Insects do not enter, and there is a sun-shielding effect and minimal heating of the dwelling in the summer season.
